Number to check TIM credit
Let's start with the more “traditional” procedure, the one that allows you to know the residual credit of your line through the TIM telephone assistance service. The number to know TIM credit and the 40.916 which, without pressing any combination of keys, allows you to check your remaining credit. The service is free.
To proceed, take your smartphone, open the dialer (the app you use to make calls) and invokes the numeric keypad. Once this is done, dial the number 40.916 and start the call by pressing the appropriate button (usually the green handset).
After listening to the promotional message relating to TIM's latest offers, stay online without pressing any key and the recorded voice will notify you of the amount of your residual credit (at the date of the last change recorded).
At this point, if you also want to know any active offers on your line and the related data (e.g. to find out how many Giga you have left) press the button 1 and follow the instructions of the recorded voice, otherwise simply end the call by pressing the appropriate button on your phone (usually the red handset).
Alternatively, you can also find out your remaining credit via SMS, either by sending a single message or by activating a specific free service, called TIM warns you - SMS info, which allows, at the end of each call, to know the cost of the same and the residual credit updated in real time.
In the first case, all you have to do is launch the app Messages on your phone and press the button for create a new SMS. Once this is done, enter the number 119 as the recipient of the message, type any text (eg. remaining credit) in the body of the message and tap the button for send the SMS. Automatically, you will receive a reply message containing the requested information.
If, on the other hand, you prefer to activate the free “TIM alerts you - SMS Info” service, you must send an SMS to 40.916 writing INFOSMS ON (INFOSMS OFF to deactivate it). Alternatively, you can activate or deactivate the service in question by calling the 40.920 or by accessing the section Services of your personal area MyTIM (via browser only).
How did you say? Vorresti know the TIM credit from another phone? If so, I'm sorry to tell you it's not possible to do this over the phone. Furthermore, at least at the time of writing this guide, it is not possible to have information relating to credit and active offers even by calling the 119 (or the 3399119119 from the mobile network of other operators, at the cost of a standard call): in fact, although the option to know "minutes, SMS and residual data" is mentioned, by pressing the corresponding key the recorded voice invites you to contact the service from your mobile number TIM.
That said, to find out the TIM credit from another phone, you can download the app MyTIM for Android devices (also available on alternative stores, for devices without Google services) and iPhone / iPad on the device you have at your disposal and log in with your TIM credentials. I'll tell you more about it in the next paragraphs of this guide.
