Change username and image on Windows 10

Change username and image on Windows 10 Unless Windows was manually installed from scratch, if the PC was bought already installed and ready it may have a random username and computer name, such as "user1" or worse.
If we have previously seen how to change the computer name, in this simple guide we see how to change username in Windows 10 (also on Windows 7 and 8.1) how to change the login password and also how to change the image or the account identification photo to replace the default Windows one.

    1) Change username and password in Windows 10
In Windows 10 and Windows 8.1, unlike previous versions, the computer account is likely tied to a Microsoft account. In this case, you can change the image and password for both accounts from Windows while the name can only be changed from the Microsoft account management site.
These changes must be made, in Windows 10, by going to the Start menu and then to Settings -> Accounts.
On the main page, Your Info, you can change your account picture, by pressing the Browse button at the bottom or by taking a picture with your computer's camera or webcam.
In the Login Options section, on the other hand, you can change the password for logging into Windows, by entering a PIN or even set facial recognition if it is supported.
The name, as mentioned, requires an online change on the Microsoft account management page https://account.microsoft.com/. On the account page, click on your name at the top left to enter edit profile and change the name displayed.
If you are using a local account, then you can also change the name directly from the Windows options, by opening the Control Panel, in the User Accounts section.

    Change Windows username using netplwiz
You can use the user account settings in Windows 10, Windows 7 and 8.1 by searching the Start menu for the command netplwiz .
In the window that opens, select the profile and then click on Properties. You can then change the Full Name as you wish. The full name can also be deleted in this window. Once the steps are complete, log out and the login screen should display the name specified in the "Full Name" field.
NOTE: Never ever change the username on this screen, Windows will no longer recognize the account and you will no longer be able to log into the PC with that user.

    2) Change user name and password in Windows 8
In Windows 8 the procedure is pretty much the same as in Windows 10, except for the location of the Settings menu which is different.
In Windows 8.1, press on the Start to open the start screen and start writing PC Settings or move the mouse to the right side of the screen and click on Settings.
Once in PC Settings, it's easy to change your account picture, username and password under the Account section.
If you are using a local account, then the same Control Panel procedure already described for Windows 10 works.

    3) Change your name, password and user picture in Windows 7
In Windows 7, all accounts are local and not tied to Microsoft service accounts.
To change the login name and password just click on the Start button, search for the user account words to open the configuration window.
You can then change your account password, image and name without any problems.
