Preliminary information
Before getting into the tutorial and seeing, together, how to list a business on TripAdvisor, I would like to provide you with some preliminary information regarding the procedure in question. First of all, I want to tell you that listing a business on TripAdvisor is free; however, those who wish can subscribe to the Premium version of the service, which allows them to obtain greater visibility on the platform and to take advantage of some advanced tools, as well illustrated on this page.
Another important thing to know is that, in order to register your property, you must have a TripAdvisor account, as during the procedure you will be asked to log in to a previously created account (if you do not have an account yet, remedy immediately by following my instructions on how to register on TripAdvisor).
It is advisable, then, to upload many photos of the structure, of good quality. So, before following the instructions that you will find listed in the next paragraphs, take shots of your business using a smartphone equipped with a good camera or, even better, a Reflex: if you want advice on how to take beautiful photos with your mobile phone or how to use a Reflex, read the insights I have linked to you, they will certainly be useful.
Consider, then, that once you have submitted the registration request for your facility, more or less will pass 5 working days before TripAdvisor takes it over. Clear? Well then I would say we can take action!
Post a business on TripAdvisor from your computer
If you prefer to act from computer, as you think (rightly) more convenient to insert your business on TripAdvisor through the desktop version of the service, all you have to do is go to the page used for reporting the structures and fill out the form therein.
To proceed, then, connected to the TripAdvisor Owners page, write the name of your property and the city in which it is located in the text field Search for your facility I awarded Submit on the keyboard. If your property is already listed in the search results, click on the green button Request the activity, log in to your TripAdvisor account (if you have not already done so) and fill out the form that appears on the screen with all the data concerning you: Your name, Last name, Telephone number of the structure, Role in the structure, etc.
Then put the check mark on the boxes relating to the acceptance of condizioni d'uso of the service and to your staff possession / representation of the business you want to claim and click on the button Continue, to send the request to assign the property in question to the TripAdvisor team.
If, on the other hand, the search did not produce any results, click on the link Publish a profile now. Next, on the page List your property on TripAdvisor, specify the type of structure you want to insert (eg. Hotel, restaurants, Attractions o Holiday homes) and fill out the form that is proposed to you.
Write your own name and your address e-mail in the appropriate fields and select your role in the structure using the drop-down menu in the section Your information. Then complete the profile of the structure by filling in the fields Official name of the facility, Country, City, POSTAL CODE e Address and click on the button NEXT.
Now, proceed with entering the other information that you are asked for, based on the type of structure indicated above, by filling in the text fields you see on the screen (eg. Telephone, Fax, Email, Your website address, Total number of rooms + suites, etc.). Then specify the information regarding the price range of your facility, indicating the average price or the minimum and maximum (Min e Max), remembering to also select the correct currency (eg. Euro) from the drop-down menu Select a currency and, once you have filled in all the information regarding your property, click on the button Choose photos to upload photos of the latter.
Then put the check mark on the box relating to the certification that you are an official representative of the company in question and click on the button Send, to request the publication of the profile of the structure. Typically, requests are processed by the TripAdvisor team in 5 working days. When the information you have provided is verified by the service staff and your property is approved, you will receive an email from TripAdvisor.
Post an activity on TripAdvisor from smartphones and tablets
If you want to list your business on TripAdvisor by acting as smartphone or tablet, know that it is not possible to use the official app of the service for Android and iOS and, therefore, you must proceed from the TripAdvisor website. I anticipate that it is somewhat inconvenient to carry out this operation on the move, as the structure entry form is not optimized for mobile devices (unfortunately it is only available in desktop mode) and this could make data entry very difficult. especially if you work from a smartphone or, in any case, from a device with a very small screen.
To proceed, in any case, connected to the TripAdvisor Owners page, write the name of your property and the city in which it is located in the field Search for your facility e fai tap sull'icona della magnifying glass. If your property is already registered, tap the button Request the activity to claim ownership, then log into your TripAdvisor account (if necessary) and fill out the form that is proposed to you with all the necessary information (eg. Your name, Last name, Telephone number of the structure, Role in the structure, etc.). Therefore, check the boxes concerning the acceptance of the condizioni d'uso of the service and confirmation that you are authorized to claim the business and press pulsating Continue.
If, on the other hand, the search did not produce results, click on the link Publish a profile now and, on the page that opens, indicate the facility you wish to register (eg. Hotel, restaurants, Attractions o Holiday homes), fill out the form that is proposed to you with all the requested information (eg. Your name, e-mail, Official name of the facility, Country, City, POSTAL CODE e Address, etc.) and tap the button NEXT.
Now, proceed with entering the other information regarding your structure by filling out the rest of the form, tap the button Choose photos to upload photos of your facility, check the box regarding the certification that you are an official representative of the company in question and tap the button Send, to submit the request for inclusion of the property on TripAdvisor.
Please note that requests are usually processed by the TripAdvisor team in 5 working days. When the information you have provided is verified by the service staff and your property is approved, you will receive an email from TripAdvisor.
