COYOTE service subscription price
Before talking to you in detail about how the app works COYOTE, I must first show you what the prices of the service are. The application can be downloaded for free on Android and iOS and, following the creation of an account (procedure that I will explain to you in this chapter), it is possible to obtain 15 free trial days.
After this deadline, however, to continue obtaining real-time information on traffic, thanks to the collaborative alert system, it is necessary to subscribe.
The subscription prices are € 2,99 per month for the subscription of the monthly plan without renewal constraints. From the fourth month, or after some promotional periods, the price goes to € 5,99 per month.
The purchased subscription is automatically renewed, unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the expiration date (if you need more information about it, please refer to the instructions in this chapter). Without a subscription, the COYOTE app remains usable free of charge for navigation only.
Download COYOTE on Android
One smartphone is possiedi Android, to download the free application COYOTE, you have to go to the Play Store, which is the default virtual store of devices with the Google operating system installed. To download the app, your device must be updated to at least the version 4.0 of Android.
That said, if your device meets these requirements, click on the colored triangle, which is located on the home screen and / or in the drawer of your smartphone (the screen with the list of all the apps installed on the device), and use the search engine located at the top to search for the application in question.
After typing its name, locate it in the search results, tap on its preview card and, to install it, press the button Install. Wait just a few seconds for the automatic download to complete, then start COYOTEby pressing the button apri that is shown to you.
For simplicity, you can also launch the app COYOTE by pressing directly on its icon (a Green “C” on a black background) which, at the end of the download, will be added to the home screen of your device and / or to the drawer.
Download COYOTE on iPhone
To download the free app COYOTE on iPhone, refer toApp Store iOS, which is the default virtual store of Apple devices. The app COYOTE to be installed, it requires iOS 10.0 or later.
If your iPhone meets this requirement, start the App Store by pressing on its icon (the blue one with a stylized “A” in the center), which is located on the home screen.
Adesso, premium pulsating Search (The icon with the magnifying glass), located at the bottom, and refer to the next text field that is shown to you, which you find at the top, to type the name of the app.
Then locate the COYOTE application (the icon with a "C" green on black background), tap on it, to see the preview card, and install it by pressing the button Get. Once this is done, if prompted, confirm the installation via the Face ID, Touch ID or password of your iCloud account. Once the download is complete, start the app by pressing the button apri that is shown to you.
If you want to launch the app faster COYOTE, press its icon directly: at the end of the automatic download you will find it added to the home screen of your iPhone.
Create a COYOTE account
After downloading and launching the app COYOTE, the first step you need to take is to create an account, in order to achieve so 15 days free trial which are used to use the real-time alert service.
When you first start the app, both on Android that of iOS, you are shown some summary screens, which concern the main features of the service: scroll them with a swipe to the right, or press directly on Salta and then Start.
Adesso, premium pulsating Continue and then, on Android, fai tap sul pulsating Allow, to authorize the app to access your location. Then press on OK, to continue, tap on Continue and move the lever up ON, corresponding to the item Allow navigation to other apps, so that the app COYOTE can show itself above other applications, as if it were some sort of widget (don't worry, this option can be deactivated and reactivated at any time).
Su iOS, after viewing or skipping the COYOTE summary screens, as I explained to you in the previous lines, presses on Settings to activate the locationby moving its lever up ON. Then authorize access to the app by clicking on Continue in the next screen that is shown to you.
Also, always on iOS, authorize the app COYOTEby pressing on Allow, so that it can access the data relating to your position while it is in use, then continue by pressing the button Continue.
Optionally, if you want to know in real time the information on the viability and the offers of the subscription, click on Allow twice consecutively, to activate notifications. If not, tap on Later.
Here we are: now you can register with a procedure that is exactly the same on both Android and iOS. Then press the button Signing in, located at the bottom, and enter your email address (Email) and a password of your choice (Password), in the text fields that are shown to you.
Then make sure that the right nationality has been selected (for example city), using the drop-down menu Country and, after placing the check mark on the item I have read and accept the terms and conditions and the privacy policy, award-winning Signing in.
To confirm the creation of an account, a phone number is optionally required. If you want to enter it, make sure that, on the next screen, the correct international prefix has been selected (for example prefix) and type yours telephone number, using the appropriate text field. Then confirm the operation by clicking on Ends, or skip this step by pressing on Salta.
After creating an account, you will be provided with a 15-day free trial, so that you can use the service for free by trying all the features I will tell you about shortly.
At any time, you can purchase a subscription (I told you about pricing in this chapter) by going to your account section. Up Android, to do so, press the ☰ icon, then tap on the item Your subscription e pigia his Pay now. On iOSinstead, press the ☰ icon, then the voice My information e fai tap sull 'carrello icon to purchase the monthly pass without obligation.
Also through this screen, you can see the expiration date of the purchased subscription. This is automatically renewed at the end of the indicated period, unless it is deactivated at least 24 hours before the expiry, acting from this same section.
Use the COYOTE Navigator
Now that you have downloaded the app COYOTE on your smartphone and you have also created an account, it's time to see how to use its browsing service.
In the next few lines, I'll show you how the app works COYOTE, to allow you to optimize your trip and thus avoid being trapped in traffic, thanks to its real-time reporting system.
Download the maps
In order to use the app COYOTE as a navigation tool, I recommend first of all to download the maps of the city where you are, or those of the country or region of your interest: in this way, you will reduce the consumption of data that are used during navigation.
To proceed, after creating the account, click on the button OK su Android or on Validate su iOS, in the box that is shown to you. Then, via the screen Map / Navigation, tap on the item Download of the map and select the map to download, by pressing, for example, on city o Lombardy.
At any time, you can download other maps via the route Settings> Map / Navigation> Map download, accessible by pressing the button ☰, located at the top left of the main screen. If, on the other hand, you want to make sure that the downloaded maps are up to date, click on the icon ☰ and then tap on the item Maps update. Maps of all of Europe are available through COYOTE as, as mentioned above, the service and navigation with the app works throughout Europe.
Start navigation
Once you have downloaded and updated the maps, you can start navigating and, first of all, start setting the addresses of home and work or, in general, of some favorite places.
To do this, click onhouse icon, located on the main screen and, in the text field Research, type the address of your interest, selecting it from the results that are shown to you, in order to automatically confirm it on Android. On iOS, on the other hand, to confirm the indicated address, press the button Validate.
Repeat the same operation by pressing onsuitcase icon, in order to set the address of the job. To add more favorites, tap on theheart icon, tap on the item Add a favorite and customize the text fields with information regarding the name of the place (Your name) and address (Address). To confirm your entry, click on Validate.
Once this is done, select an address from those previously entered, by pressing onhouse iconand suitcase or by selecting a favorite by tapping on theicon of heart. Alternatively, use the text field Research (top) to type and select a different destination.
Before starting navigation via the map mode (by pressing the button Start), use the icons located in the top menu, which are used to adjust the route options: you can activate or deactivate the motorway routes (Motorway), tolls (Toll) and dirt roads (Dirt road). To confirm your choices, click on Validate.
Now, select one of the three proposed itineraries, depending on the traffic (Free flowing traffic, Heavy traffic, Very heavy traffic) and the options previously set, and press on Start.
Once navigation is started, the app COYOTE will guide you during the journey, helping you to orient yourself, thanks to the system of viewing maps in 3D (press the button 2D on the left, if you want to switch to the top view).
In addition, its real-time update system will allow you to stay informed on traffic conditions at all times. In the event that a slowdown has been reported, this will be visible in the right sidebar: at that point, the app COYOTE will automatically propose a change of route, recommending an alternative and faster itinerary.
While navigating, you can see in real time the speed at which you are driving (below) and the speed limit allowed on the stretch of road currently traveled (below left). On the motorway, moreover, thanks to functionality Lane Assistant, there is an assistance screen that helps you not to miss the exit to take.
By zooming in capacitor positive (+) lead or un zoom out negative (-) lead on the map, it is also possible to have at a glance some traffic information, such as the busiest roads (the green lines, yellow o red). Your itinerary is instead marked with blue line. The captions at the top then show some information in real time, such as directions, travel time, kilometers and arrival time at the destination.
To stop browsing, tap at any time on the menu bar at the top and press on Stop.
Real-time reports
One of the most prominent features of the app COYOTE is its system of shared alerts (over 12 million pieces of information exchanged per month) which are characterized by their reliability, as they are sent and verified in real time by members of the community (over 5 million users).
The reports are displayed within a radius of 30 km, remain active for three hours and can be of various types: mobile speed cameras, accidents, slowdowns, traffic, narrowings o obstacles on the roadway, reduced visibility, uneven bottom o slippery road, for example.
These signals with 30Km in advance, allow the user to drive more attentively when the unexpected approaches, so as to have a safer driving behavior and not be unprepared in the event of sudden situations. The alerts are shown on the map in real time and are reported, in turn, by users who can confirm or cancel them, through the appropriate screen that is displayed during navigation.
In addition, the COYOTE service, in addition to sharing reports in real time, contains in its database all the control stations such as fixed speed cameras, traffic light cameras, tutor sections and ZTL areas.
In addition to receiving information in real time, it is possible to report any unexpected events, in order to proactively collaborate with the community. To do this, click ontriangle icon with an exclamation point at the bottom right, tap on the signal (for example Stationary vehicle) and press on Confirmation.
Expert mode
In addition to the Map mode, which I told you about in this chapter, you can also activate the Expert mode COYOTE app. To do this, press the ☰ icon at the top left and, in the screen that is shown to you, tap on the item Expert mode.
La Expert mode, unlike the Map mode, provides at the top of the screen, in addition to information on the route (duration, arrival time and kilometers to be traveled), details on the speed in real time and on the speed limit allowed on the stretch of road traveled.
At the bottom of the screen, however, the route and traffic information are shown, such as unexpected events (for example Speed Cameras) reported by users within a radius of 30 Km.
To return to the map mode, more suitable for using the application COYOTE as a navigator, press the ☰ icon at the top left and, in the screen you see, tap on Map mode.
Stats
Another feature of the app COYOTE noteworthy is the one accessible through the section My stats: it is a personalized virtual logbook that, in real time and in a single screen, shows your driving habits, allowing you to compare them with the rest of the community, in order to increase the involvement among the users of the service.
To activate it, press the ☰ icon at the top left and tap on the item My stats. Now, tap on the item I activate my stats, accept the general conditions of use, by placing the check mark on the appropriate item that is shown to you, and press on I confer.
The statistics are updated in real time and are divided into the tab Personal information e Community. The first indicates information such as for example distance traveled, time driving, time spent in queue e average speed. The board Communityinstead, it refers to the alerts reported and confirmed, with information such as the number of users notified, alerts marked e receipts.
SOS function
Very useful, if you need a direct connection to the police or the emergency room, use the quick buttons Police e rescue, present in the section SOS. in the ☰ menu to make an emergency call.
This screen also shows the real-time position detected by the GPS: press the button Share, to forward it through other applications, even not necessarily in emergencies.
Settings
You need to adjust the app settings COYOTE, to get the most personalized browsing experience possible? Nothing could be simpler: tap on the ☰ icon at the top left, then press on the item Settings.
The COYOTE settings are divided into some sub-sections, each of them necessary to adjust the different features of the app. The section Main settings (General on iOS) is used, for example, to change the display of the startup screen and the activation of the night mode.
By pressing on Alertsinstead, you can customize the alerts related to Speed Cameras or to tutor. Likewise, pressing on Speed limits, you can adjust the warnings that are shown if you exceed the speed limits. By pressing on Soundthen, you can customize the sound alerts.
To adjust options affecting the map and navigation (for example Visualization of 3D buildings) and to be able to download new maps (the voice Map download, which I told you about in this chapter), go to the section Map / Navigation.
Su Android, you can also disable or enable the feature Show in overlay (which, as mentioned above, can also be selected when creating the account), using the homonymous entry in Advanced Settings. The latter is called Advanced Parameters on iOS and also serves to view it GPS signal status, just to give you an example.
