How to open JSON files on Windows

As for opening JSON files on Windows, my advice is to rely on the software Notepad + +: if you had never heard of it, this is an excellent free alternative to Windows Notepad, able to recognize "on the fly" most of the programming / scripting languages present on the square and to automatically apply indentation and colors identifiers to the source code contained therein, without however altering the source file in any way.

To get it, connected to the main page of the program, click on the item Download located on the side and, to immediately download the setup file, click on the button Download (l'icona a forma di box) on the next page.

Once you have obtained the installation file (in .exe), start it, click on the button Yesselect l 'cityno from the drop-down menu proposed and press the button OK; afterward, click the buttons Come on, I agree, on (twice in a row), Install and, to conclude and start the program immediately, end.

After a few moments, Notepad ++ should open automatically (if it doesn't, call it up from the menu Home Windows): when this happens, go to the menu File> Open…, or click on the icon in the shape of gialla poster located at the top left. Then, using the File Explorer / Windows Explorer panel displayed on the screen, choose the file JSON of your interest, click on the button apri And that's it!

After a few moments, the source code of the file of your choice will be displayed, correctly formatted, indented and split into objects, keys e values (depending on the constructs used within it). If needed, you can edit the file as you see fit, and then save it through the menu File> Save (top left) or by clicking on the icon in the shape of floppy disk placed at the top.

In my humble opinion, one of the best free programs for open JSON files su MacOS è Atom, a viewer very similar to Notepad ++, with support for a large number of programming and scripting languages (JSON included).

To get it, connect to its official website and press the button Download placed in the center of the page; once you get the package .dmg, copy it to the Applications folder Mac (just drag the icon directly from the Download area of the Dock bar), launch it and press the button apri to authorize its execution.
