How Skype works on mobile for free
If you agree, let's get straight to the point and see how Skype works on mobile. I remind you that, even from mobile, the use of the service is Free to make calls and video calls with other Skype accountswhile it is paid in case you want to use the service to carry out calls to traditional telephone numbers (as I also explained to you in this other guide).
Also watch out for data traffic: if you use Skype on a 4G / 3G network, especially with video calls, you could very quickly erode your SIM data plan. All clear? Well then let's proceed!
Download the app
The first thing you need to do to use Skype on your smartphone is to download the app service officer. To succeed on it Android, start the Play Storeby pressing on the icon colored triangle which is placed on the Home screen or in the application drawer, then tap on search bar high mail, write "Skype" inside and selects the first result that is found.
If you are reading this article from the device on which you intend to install the app, you can press directly on this link, to open the download page in the Play Store. In the screen that opens, then tap the green button Install and wait for the Skype installation procedure to be completed.
If you are using a Huawei smartphone on which there is no Play Store, know that you can be able to install Skype by following the steps I gave you in the article in which I show in detail how to install apps on Huawei.
To download Skype on iPhoneinstead, start theApp Storeby pressing on the icon A white on a light blue background placed on the Home screen of your "iPhone by", then press the button Search placed in the lower right and, in Campo di Ricerca which is at the top, type "Skype" and tap on the first occurrence that is found. If you are working directly from the iPhone on which you intend to install Skype, you can go to its download page by tapping on this link.
Then, click on the button Ottieni / Installa and confirm the installation of Skype with the Face ID, touch ID or the Password of yours Apple ID.
Create a Skype account
After installing and starting Skype on your device, you need to log in with the Microsoft account you have always used on your PC. If you don't have one, to use the Skype app, you need to create an account.
Before explaining how to do this, however, I want to tell you that using Skype from a compatible browser (eg. Chrome o Edge) you could use the service even without registration, using a guest account (valid for 24 hours). Using this mobile solution is not the best of practicality, but if you want to learn more about it, I refer you to reading this other guide where I explain how to take advantage of this possibility in more detail.
To proceed with the creation of an account, press the blue button Start, located on the home screen of the Skype app and presses the button Log in or create account. Next, click on the link Click here to create one located in correspondence with the wording Do not have an account? and register with your mobile number or e-mail address.
In the screen that opens, then provide the Password to protect your account, press the button NEXT, provide name e last name in the appropriate text fields and presses the button again NEXT, to continue. Now, point to yours date of birth in the appropriate field, specify yours Country / geographic area of residence and press the button again NEXT.
Finally, enter the code that was sent to you via SMS or email (depending on the way you decided to register), using the appropriate text field, and press once again on the button NEXT, I will continue.

Call with Skype
Now you can finally call with Skype. To do this, go to the main screen of the app, tap on the item Contacts located at the bottom right and presses on contact name that you are going to call.
Is the person you want to call not saved in your contacts? No problem: you can search for her on Skype and call her anyway. To succeed, press on the wording Chat located at the bottom left, write the name of the person say you are interested testo field located at the top and then tap on nominative quite right.
Now, to start the call, press the symbol of handset (if you want to make a simple voice call) or on the symbol of camera (if you intend to make a video call), both placed at the top right, and wait for the user to answer.
Once the call has started, you can press on the del icon microphone to mute your microphone; on the symbol of camera to switch from a call to a video call (or vice versa); on the speech bubble to send a text message or on the icon square to take a picture of the screen.
Pigging on your pulse (...) placed at the bottom right, however, you can insert new people in the call (function Add people), you can record calls (function Start recording) and share your screen (function Share screen). To close the call, on the other hand, presses the button depicting the symbol of white handset on red background.
On Skype you can also start group calls directly: just select the option Chat, press the icon of pencil located at the top right and select the item New call.
Then you have to put the check mark next to names people to call and tap the button Call, located at the top right. Have you seen that it is not at all complicated to use Skype on mobile?
