How to merge PDF files
Let's start this guide on how to merge files starting from documents in PDF. If you need to merge two or more files belonging to the above type, go ahead and read. You will find explained how to proceed on Windows, MacOS, Android e iOS.
PDFill Free PDF Tools (Windows)
If you need to merge two or more PDFs on Windows, I recommend you to use the free program PDFill Free PDF Tools, which includes a series of tools that allow you to edit PDFs by joining them, dividing them, rotating them, converting them etc.
To download it to your PC, go to the software website and click on the link Download on the left, then press the button Download now present sotto la scritta GET FREE Basic Version in the newly opened page and on the additional button Download Now that is shown to you.
Once the download process is complete, open the .exe file obtained and, in the window that appears on the screen, click on the buttons Yes e Next. Then check the box I accept the terms in the License Agreement, award your bottone Next three times in a row, then on that install and finally click on the button Finish. If you are asked to install Ghostscript e . Net Framework, accept: these are two free components required for the program to work. During the setup procedure also make sure to deselect any other additional software (and add superfluous, in this case!) That are proposed to you.
At this point, start the software by double clicking on the relative shortcut that has been added to the desktop, click on the button Merge PDF Files in the main program window and drag and drop the PDFs you want to merge onto it. Then use the buttons Move up e move down to arrange the documents in the order you prefer and click on the button Save as to generate the output document, indicating the name you want to assign it and the location where you want to save it.

Preview (macOS)
Stai using a Mac, to merge PDF files you can use Preview, the application included "standard" in macOS through which you can view and edit images and PDF files.
To use it for the purpose of this tutorial, open the first document in PDF format on which you want to intervene, select the menu Vista located in the upper left part of the menu bar and select the item Miniature from the latter, in order to enable the display of the thumbnail bar on the left side of the Preview window.
At this point, drag all the documents you want to merge together in the sidebar you just opened in Preview and move the thumbnail of each added document above or below, so as to place the files in the order you prefer.
Then click on the menu Fillet located at the top left, select the item Print from the latter and, in the window you see appear on the screen at this point, choose the option Save as PDF give menu to tendin PDF located at the bottom left.
Finally, indicate the location where you want to save the final document, type in the field next to the item Save as the name you want to give it and then press the button Save.

iLovePDF (Online)
To merge your PDF files you can also rely on a convenient online service such as iLovePDF: it is a web solution that offers various useful tools for working on PDFs, including one for merging documents in this format. It should be noted that the service respects the privacy of users, automatically deleting the files that are uploaded to its servers a few hours after the upload, and that it is free.
To use iLovePDF, go to its main page and drag on it the PDFs you want to merge together, then click on the button Merge PDF, to get the final document. Easier than that?
PDF Merge (Android / iOS)
Do you want to merge your PDF files by acting as a smartphone or tablet? Then use the app PDF Merge: it is, in fact, a free application for Android e iOS which allows you to merge multiple PDF files together by taking them from various cloud storage services and / or apps. The only thing to keep in mind is that to get the unified PDF file you have to wait at least 60 minutes. To get around this limitation, it is necessary to make in-app purchases at a cost of 4,99 euros on Android and 10,99 euros on iOS.
To use it, download and install the app from the relevant section of the Play Store (on Android) or the App Store (on iOS), start it by selecting its icon on the home screen and, once its main screen is displayed, tap the red button with i two sheets which is located at the top.
Next, select the service or l 'Whatsapp from which you intend to take the PDF files to be merged by pressing on the relative icon, select the files on which you want to intervene and press on the wording Add, located at the top left.
At this point, reorder the documents according to your preferences and needs by selecting the button with the three lines horizontally placed on the right and moving them (continuing to hold), then press on the item Go which is at the top left, tap on the item Wait and wait for the procedure to merge the files to be completed.
When the process is complete, you will receive a notification, you will be shown the preview of the final document and you can save it on your device or other services by pressing on the item Share located at the bottom left.
How to merge Word files
You need to merge files Word? Then continue reading: below you will find explained how to do it on Windows that of MacOS.
Microsoft Word (Windows / macOS)
If you have downloaded and installed the Office package on your computer, you can merge Word files using, in fact, Microsoft Word, the well-known word processing program made available by the Redmond company, which is compatible with both Windows and macOS.
All you have to do to use it is to start Word on your computer, open the first document you want to act on and get to its final point.
Later, if you want, you can add apage break, in order to insert the text of the second file starting from a blank page. To do this, just select the tab Inserisci, click on the button Pages located at the top left and choose the option Page break give the riquadro che si apre.
Then, go to the tab Inserisci, click here Subject located at the top right, select the option Text from file from the box that appears and choose the document to add to the one currently displayed. Repeat, therefore, the steps I have just indicated for each file you want to add and, once the changes are complete, save the unified document by selecting the menu Fillet located at the top left, by clicking on the option Save with name and indicating the name you want to assign to the final document and the location in which to save it.

DocSoSo (Online)
If you don't have the Office package installed on your computer, you can merge two or more Word files using the web service DocSoSo, which is free and super easy to use. It should also be noted that the files uploaded to the service are automatically deleted from the service servers within 24 hours of uploading.
To use it, go to its home page, click on the button Select files and select the Word files to merge. Then click on the button Merge Word, wait for the final document to be generated and click on the item Download File, which appears below, to download the output file to your PC. That's all!
How to join MP3 files
You need to join two or more files together MP3? Yes it can do that too. To do this, use the solutions for Windows, MacOS, Linux, Android e iOS which I will report to you in the following steps.
fre: ac (Windows / macOS / Linux)
If you need to merge MP3 files by acting as a PC, you can take advantage of the program fre: ac, an open source audio converter that supports all the most popular audio file formats and also allows you to perform this kind of operation. It's free and works on Windows, macOS and Linux.
To download it, go to its official website and, if you are using Windows, click on the link freac-xx.exe, while if you are using a Mac click on the link freac-xx-alpha-xx-macosx.dmg.
When the download is complete, if you are using Windows, april il .exe file obtained and, in the window that appears on the desktop, first click on the button Yes and then on those NEXT, Yes, NEXT (for four consecutive times) e end.
Se, invece, stai using MacOS, april il package .dmg ottenuto, trascina l 'fre icon: ac in the folder Applications, right click on it, select the item apri from the context menu and then press the button apri in the window displayed on the screen, in such a way as to start the software, however, going around the limitations imposed by Apple on applications from non-certified developers (an operation that must be carried out only at the first start).
Once fre: ac is started, drag the MP3 files you want to merge into the program window and arrange them in the order you like. Next, check the item Encoding in a single file located at the bottom right, click on arrow located next to the button Play at the top right and select the option LAME MP3 Encoder give the menu to compare.
In the further window displayed, type the name you want to assign to the final file, indicate the location in which to save it and click the button Save To finalize the procedure.

Audio Founder (Online)
If you do not want or cannot rely on a PC program to merge your files in MP3 format, I recommend that you contact the online service Audio Melter. It's free, easy to use, and works in any browser.
To use it, visit its home page and drag the MP3 files you want to merge into the box in the center. Alternatively, click the button Add tracks at the top left to select songs manually.
Then, specify (if you want) the starting point and the ending point of the song to be generated using the appropriate menus (below), check that in correspondence with the Size the option is selected mp3 (otherwise select it) and press the button Funds.
Once the process is complete, you can download the unified song by clicking on the button Download. Alternatively, you can save it to dropbox or on Google Drive selecting the relative links from the menu visible by clicking on the button with the arrow.
MP3 Audio Merger and Joiner (Android)
You need to merge MP3 files by acting from Android and you don't know how to do it? Then turn to the application MP3 Audio Merger and Joiner. As the name suggests, it is a solution that allows you to join and divide music files from smartphones and tablets. It's super easy to use and it's free.
To use it, download and install the app from the relevant section of the Play Store, start it by pressing on its icon added to the home screen and, once its main screen is displayed, select the songs to be joined by making a long tap on the first of them.
Then select the other mp3s to join, tap the button with the checkmark located at the top right, arrange the songs in the order you prefer and press the button Go placed at the bottom.
Finally, put the check mark next to the item mp3, award-winning Continue, type the name you want to assign to the final file, indicate the destination folder of the same and press the button Done To finalize the procedure.
Hokusai Audio Editor (iOS)
If what you are using is a device iOSinstead, you can join MP3 files using the app Hokusai Audio Editor, which supports all major music file formats and is quite intuitive. It is free, but offers in-app purchases (at a cost of 10,99 euros) through which you can unlock extra functions (which, however, are not useful in this case). Note, however, that the final file will be M4A and not MP3.
To use the app, download and install it from the relevant section of the App Store, start it by tapping on its icon located on the home screen and, once its main screen is displayed, press the button [+] located at the top right.
At this point, tap on the icon Import and select the first MP3 file to merge. Then move the pointer to the end of the song graph, press the button again Import and select the second track to merge.
Repeat the steps I just indicated with all the songs you want to merge and, when the procedure is complete, first tap on the sheet with the wrench which is located at the top right and then on the item Share audio, attached to the menu that opens. Finally, indicate the app to which to export the final file.
How to merge video files
If, on the other hand, you need to join two or more files together video (in whatever format they are) the indications to which you must comply are those that you find below, valid for Windows, MacOS, Linux, Android e iOS.
Avidemux (Windows / macOS / Linux)
Stai using Windows o MacOS, you can join video files with the same format and the same technical characteristics using Avidemux. In case you have never heard of it, it is a free and open source video editor that supports all the most common video file formats and which, among the many operations it allows you to perform, is also able to perform merge the videos (provided they have the same resolution and the same technical characteristics).
To download it on Windows, visit his website and click on the item win32 xxx Final Install (64 bits), FossHub (if you use a 64-bit Windows) or on that win32 xxx Final Install (32 bits), FossHub (if you are using 32-bit Windows). Then click on the entry Avidemux 64-bit Windows Installer or on that Avidemux 32-bit Windows Installer, depending on the version of Windows in use, to start the download of the program.
Stai is invented using a Mac, to download Avidemux you must first click on the item xxx Mojave QT5 (dmg), FossHub and then on that Avidemux macOS - DMG, in the new page displayed.
When the download is complete, if you are using Windows, april il .exe file obtained and, in the window that appears on the screen, click on the buttons Yes, Next, I Agree, Next (three consecutive times), install e Finish.
If, on the other hand, you use MacOS, april il package .dmg ottenuto, trascina l 'Avidemux icon in the folder Applications and start the program by right clicking on it, selecting the item apri from the menu that opens and pressing the button apri in the window that is proposed to you, in order to start the application, however, going around the limitations of Apple towards applications from non-certified developers (operation that must be performed only at the first start).
Next, start Avidemux, click on the icon folder at the top left and select the first video to merge. Then click on the menu Fillet located at the top left, choose the item Add and select the files to add to the one opened just now.
Then make sure that in the drop-down menus Video output e Audio output the option is selected Copy, indicates the source video format (which will also be used for the output video) from the menu Container output, click on the menu Fillet located at the top left and, to conclude, select the item Save and indicate the location and name you want to assign to the output file.

VEdit (Android)
Stai using a smartphone or tablet Android, you can merge your files using the app Vedi: it is a free video editor that allows you to cut and join videos in an incredibly simple and fast way.
To use it, download the app from the relevant section of the Play Store, start it by selecting yours icon from the home screen, press the button Video Merge and make a long tap on the first video to be joined. Then, single tap on the other movies to add in the queue, press on checkmark located at the top right and finally press the button Go.
In the box that opens, indicate dimensions, quality e framerate of the output video, press the button Continue, then specify the name to assign to the movie, the location in which to save it and press Done, to complete the procedure.
iMovie (iOS)
Stai using a iPhone or a iPad, you can merge your video files using iMovie, the Apple app for creating and editing movies. It's free and pre-installed on all recent iOS devices. If removed, it can still be downloaded from the App Store.
To use it for your purpose, start it by pressing on his icon present on the home screen, then select the tab Projects located at the top, press the button [+] and choose to create a new movie. Next, select the videos to merge, put the check on the box that appears in the center of the screen and tap the button Create film which is located at the bottom.
Now, decide whether to keep the current video order or to modify it (by long tap on the thumbnails of the videos to be moved and dragging them to the desired point in the timeline). Next, if you want to remove the transition effects set automatically by iMovie between videos, select the latter and activate the button None which appears below.
It therefore indicates whether to cut some scenes using the function Divide iMovie and tap the button end located at the top left. Finally, click onshare icon (the one with the square with the arrow) and choose the location to save the output movie.
Merge other types of files
In the previous lines we saw how to merge the most popular file formats. However, it might be useful to know that other types of files can also be affected.
