What is GoFundMe
GoFundMe is a free platform that allows you to create fundraising campaigns of various kinds, aimed at individuals, groups and organizations. All you need to do to start a new campaign is to create your GoFundMe account, tell your story and set your fundraising goal.
People wishing to make a donation can do so through credit or debit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express e Discover), by accessing the campaign of your interest and specifying the amount to donate (minimum 5 euros).
As for the commissions, you should know that, in the city, the creation of a campaign is completely free. Beneficiaries are only subject to a small standard fee of 2,9% plus € 0,30 per donation, for the management of credit cards and the secure transfer of funds.
Donors can also make a donation without any commission on the amount donated. However, when donating, users can add a optional contribution in support of GoFundMe.
How to create a campaign on GoFundMe
Be your intention è create a campaign on GoFundMe, click on the main page of the service, click on the button Create a campaign, at the top right, and fill out the registration form visible on the screen Subscribe.
Then enter your personal data in the fields Your name, Last name, Email address e Password, place a check mark next to the option Get tips from GoFundMe. You can change your preferences at any time, if you wish to subscribe to the GoFundMe newsletter, and click on the button NEXT.
On the new page that opens, specify the amount you want to reach with your fundraiser by entering it in the field Enter your goal. It will be useful to know that it is an indicative and non-binding amount: at any time, you can withdraw the donations received even without having reached the set goal.
Then specify the campaign name in the appropriate field, enter the postcode of your city in the field Your ZIP code and select the category of your interest via the drop-down menu Choose a category (Eg. Animals and pets, Communities and neighborhoods, Celebrations and events, Instruction, Travel and adventures, Volunteering and services etc.).
Once this is done, if you are the only organizer of the campaign, put the check mark next to the item Individual, otherwise choose the option Team (if you wish you can also enter the name and photo team) and click on the button NEXT.
You are now ready to customize your campaign. On the screen Add a photo or video, then click on the option of your interest between Select a Facebook photo to import a photo from Facebook, Upload the photo to upload one from your computer or Add a YouTube video to insert a YouTube video in your campaign in which you tell your story / project. Once this is done, enter your campaign description in the field Explain why you are raising funds, detailing what the funds will be used for, by when you need them, who will benefit and any information that may be useful to donors.
Then click on the button NEXT, insertion and date richiesti nei campi Phone Number, Mailing address, Your postal code, City e County or region and press pulsating Continue, to create your first campaign on GoFundMe.

By accessing the section Pick up e clicking on your button Set up withdrawals, you can verify your phone number (required to verify your identity) and add yours banking data, to be able to receive donations directly to your current account.
It will be useful to know, however, that you can set up withdrawals only after receiving the first donation and within 30 days of it. Otherwise, the donations will be paused and, after 90 days of receiving the first donation, the funds will be refunded to the donors.
How to donate on GoFundMe

To proceed, connect to the main GoFundMe page and locate the section Campaigns of the moment, with the list of the most popular fundraising campaigns of the moment. To view all available campaigns, click on the option instead Discoverat the top left and select the option Campaigns give the menu check if you press.
On the screen Check out the fundraisers, are listed some of the campaigns created by GoFundMe users divided by categories Raises funds for medical expenses, Fundraising for commemorations, Non-profit fundraising, Fundraising for emergencies e Raises funds for education. Also, in the section View fundraisers by category, you can select the category of your interest from those available (eg. Pets, Event, Fede, Sport, Travel, Family, Volunteering, want, Company etc.).
How do you say? Do you want to make a donation to a specific campaign for which you already know the name? If so, click on the entry SearchAt the top left, enter the name of the campaign or organizer in the field Try searching for people, titles, or places and premium tasto Submit on the keyboard to view the search results. Regardless of the campaign you have chosen, on the main page of the latter, you can view its creation date, name of the organizer Description, if any video created for fundraising andobiettivo to reach. At this point, enter your details in the fields Your name, Last name, Email address, Country e Postal code and, if you wish to make an anonymous donation, put the check mark next to the option Hide name and comments from everyone except the organizer.
Once this is done, enter your credit card details in the fields Credit or debit card number, Expiry month, Expiry year e Security code, place a check mark next to the option Receive occasional updates from GoFundMe on how to help others. You can change your preferences at any time, to activate the GoFundMe newsletter, and click on the button Donate, to make your donation.
How GoFundMe works from smartphones and tablets
GoFoundMe It is also available as an application for Android and iPhone / iPad devices and allows you to create new fundraisers as well as manage existing campaigns. Furthermore, it is also possible to make donations but, unlike what is indicated in the lines relating to computer donations, to proceed it is necessary to create your own account.
After downloading GoFundMe from your device's store, launch the app in question, press the button Log in, enter the data associated with your account in the fields Email e Password e fai tap sul pulsating NEXT, to login. Now, if you want to create a new fundraiser, click on the button Create a GoFoundMe campaign, enter its name in the field Title and select one of the available options from Choose from your phone, Import from Facebook e take a picture, to associate an image with your campaign. Alternatively, choose the voice Videos on YouTube, to insert a YouTube video in which you talk about your fundraiser and that you have previously uploaded to the famous Google video sharing platform.
At this point, I inserted the Description of your campaign in the appropriate field, click on the button NEXT, set theobiettivo to reach and specify the category. Then indicate if you are organizing a campaign as the sole organizer (Individual) or group (Team) and tap the buttons Check out the campaign e Complete the setup.
On the screen You're almost done!, insertion and date richiesti nei campi Phone Number, Address, Province, City e Country and press the button NEXT, to publish your campaign. Now, all you have to do is select the option My campaigns located in the bottom menu, to view and manage all your fundraisers.
To make a donation to a campaign created by other users, instead, select the item Home from the menu below and enter the name of the fund manager of your interest in the field Search, up. Then press on campaign for which you intend to make a donation and tap the button Make a donation, bottom right.
Automatically, you will be redirected to the official GoFundMe website and you will be able to specify theamount to donate, the optional contribution, your data credit card and send the donation by clicking on the button Donate.
