How to know whose cell phone number is
Let's see, therefore, how to know whose mobile phone number is taking advantage of some collaborative lists, which are constantly fed by reports and user feedback.
The first solution I recommend you try is sync.me, which allows you to find mobile numbers belonging to spammers and private users who, in some way, have provided their contact details on the Internet (for example on social networks). At the time of writing, Sync.me allows you to perform up to a maximum of 5 searches per day. The service is also available from its app for Android and iOS.
To use it, go to its main page, click on the icon pennant on the left and select the prefix that you are going to set up (e.g. that cittàn). Next, type the cellphone number of your interest in the appropriate text field and click on the button Search.
To complete the operation, then, put the check mark on the box I'm not a robot and, if necessary, click on the button View full info, to view any information available for the numbering sought (which, as I have already mentioned before, is not always available).
tellows, on the other hand, it is a collaborative portal through which it is possible to trace information regarding individuals and companies related to the telephone numbers "reviewed" by the users themselves: thanks to the contribution of the latter, it is possible to identify especially those numbers belonging to call centers, telemarketers and other known "nuisances".
To use Tellows, go to its main page and write the number of your interest in the field enter the number which is placed at the top right (as well as on the left, in the center of the page). Then start the search by clicking on the button search, and check the availability of comments and feedback containing useful information regarding the number in question.
Dive3000 is another useful service for the purpose that you have set yourself to achieve: to have useful information to trace cell phone numbers. To use it, however, you need to register and share your mobile number in its database, which is accessible to all other registered users (who in turn have provided their mobile number, thus feeding the Dive3000 database).
To use Dive3000, go to its main page and click on the link SUBSCRIBE located at the top. Subsequently, fill out the form that is shown on the screen, providing your e-mail address, the username you intend to use and the password with which to protect the account. Then confirm the password by typing it again in the appropriate text field, check the box I'm not a robot and click sul bottone Submit (alternatively you can log in with your Facebook account by clicking on the button Login with Facebook and then providing the access information to the latter).
Now, access the inbox relating to the e-mail address with which you registered (or the e-mail associated with your Facebook account, if you registered with the latter) and click on the link contained in the message that has been sent to you, in order to complete the registration.
Afterwards, all you have to do is log in to Dive3000 and look for the numbering of your interest in its database. If there is information about the number you are looking for, it will eventually be shown on the screen.
Who's calling? is another solution you can turn to to look up phone numbers. This service, also available as an app for Android and iOS (known as Should I Answer), is constantly being improved thanks to the collaboration of users, who voluntarily provide feedback and valuable information regarding the mobile (and landline) numbers reported. It may be useful to use "Who is calling?" especially as regards the search for numbers that could come from "known annoyances", such as call centers and telemarketers.
To use "Who is calling?", Go to its home page, write the cellphone number of your interest in the field search for phone number and by clicking on the button CIRCLES. If comments and feedback are available for the number you are looking for, they will be shown to you on the new page that has opened. Take note of any available reports to find out who is behind the number that phoned you.
Another service that can come in handy for locating cell phone numbers is Truecaller (also available as an app for Android and iOS, to identify and block unwanted calls). Truecaller offers the possibility of identifying mobile numbers by drawing on its vast database which is regularly fed by users who have installed the app on their device and which also contains the numbers of many "known annoyers". To use the service, therefore, you must be willing to share your number within its database, which could constitute a potential danger to privacy.
To use it, go to the main page of Truecaller, write the number of your interest in the text field Search a phone number and by Submit on the keyboard. If necessary, before starting the search, edit the country code reference, by clicking on the appropriate menu located on the left of the search bar, then selecting the option you prefer.
Now, log in to the service using your Google account or your Microsoft account: just click on the appropriate button visible on the screen and provide the access data to the chosen account. Then wait for the page containing any search results available in the Truecaller database to open.
Other useful solutions
There are also other useful solutions to locate mobile phone numbers. If the services mentioned in the previous lines did not allow you to achieve the desired results, try these others.
- InfoBel- it is a free service that works as a sort of huge interactive telephone directory, to be consulted if necessary to identify the telephone numbers belonging to companies and individuals.
- Google Phone app (Android) - this app allows you to identify information regarding the caller's number, taking it directly from the giant Google database (as long as your device is connected to the Internet).
- WhatsApp (Android / iOS) - by saving a mobile number in your phone's address book, you may be able to view information relating to it by viewing the WhatsApp profile photo or the nickname associated with it (provided that the number is actually associated with a WhatsApp account and that this information is available).
How to know whose landline number is
Now let's see, instead, how to know whose landline number is. Below I will list some services that, in a rather simple way, allow you to trace the telephone numbers of professionals, companies and even private citizens who have decided to make their contacts public.
White pages is an online service (also available as an app for Android and iOS / iPadOS) which constitutes the digital version of the famous printed address book that we have all probably used at least once in our life. It allows you to find out who owns a landline phone number by revealing the name of the holder, as well as the address of origin and other information, as long as this is public.
To use it, go to the PagineBianche home page, write the landline number on which you want more information in the field Telephone number and then click on the button search, to start the search. On the page that opens, you will be shown any information regarding the number you searched for, including the data of the holder and (if available) also his address.
With regard to landline telephone numbers belonging to professionals, companies and, more generally, to commercial activities, also make use of Yellow Pages (also available as an app for Android and iOS / iPadOS). It works the same way as PagineBianche, so you shouldn't have any problems using it.
To search for a number on PagineGialle, go to its main page, type the number of your interest in the text field Phone Number and then click on the button search, to search. If there is information about the origin of the number you are looking for, it will be shown on the new page that has opened.
